Immediate Project Assistance

CLIENT:
One of the world’s premier cancer centers and the nation’s oldest cancer hospital.

PROJECT:
Desktop patch and upgrade. In addition to designing the plan and implementation, WAKE TSI interviewed, background tested, and hired 70 outside staffing people to work 24/7 on the project.

RESULTS:
From dressing in scrubs to work on operating room desktops to designing the database for information collection, WAKE TSI principals managed the data collection process so well that the project was expanded to include a desktop inventory.


CLIENT:
A mid-western health system with 4 hospitals and 17 clinics.

PROJECT:
Interim IT Management. A WAKE TSI principal served as the Acting Director of Information Technology for six months, and the Chief Information Security Officer for three months.

RESULTS:
As Acting Director of IT, the WAKE TSI principal renegotiated all external maintenance contracts and redesigned external support programs for printer, copier, and fax devices throughout the organization. This resulted in an annual savings of $750,000.

As Interim Chief Information Security Officer, the principal instituted a corporate security council to address not only IT security issues but also corporate wide issues, and created a security incident tracking and analysis system. Additionally, IT and the Physical Security Department were integrated into a Corporate Security Department. The principal also managed the development, presentation, and approval of policies and procedures surrounding HIPAA regulations.


CLIENT:
America’s first university. Ivy League member, and fourth-oldest institution of higher education.

PROJECT:
Interim IT Management Staffing.

RESULTS:
WAKE TSI managed the RFP process and subsequent vendor selections for both a SAN and Enterprise Monitoring system. When an experienced SAN manager was needed, a WAKE TSI consultant served as an Interim SAN Manager. During the Enterprise Monitoring implementation, another WAKE TSI consultant provided expert hands-on assistance serving as the Interim Manager of Enterprise Automation.


CLIENT:
School of Medicine ranked among the nation’s Top 10 by U.S.News & World Report.

PROJECT:
SAN RFP Development and Vendor Selection.

RESULTS:
WAKE TSI managed the RFP process and subsequent vendor negotiations. Through the RFP process, the client saved 50% of the original bid price on a 44TB SAN. WAKE TSI negotiated a discount of 72% on the client’s SAN purchase, which was an additional 32% savings over their normal discount. Client realized total savings of over $1,000,000.

The largest cable television company and 2nd largest Internet service provider in the U.S.

PROJECT:
Interim Management and Staffing. When the client’s newly formed Data Center Management Team needed experienced project managers to help manage multiple data center build-outs, WAKE TSI provided expert project managers who blended easily into the team’s structure and culture, and began managing key projects almost immediately.

RESULTS:
WAKE TSI’s interim Project Managers have saved the client money (along with space) in the data centers, while optimally positioning the client for future growth. As a result of their expertise in data center operations, the Project Managers have made significant process improvements and deployed timely, cost-effective strategies to streamline ongoing data center build-outs.
